I mean that's basically Pitt's philosophy on defense in football. Have the

DBs commit pass interference every single play knowing that the refs won't call all of them and then go ballistic whenever they do call one in order to discourage even fewer calls. Some fans want to act as if the officials have no impact on the game and on winning/losing and it's just not true. Aluma's three phantom fouls impacted us last night. And what could Aluma have done differently? Versus Pitt in football last season we are hanging around until they get an interception on a play where the intended receiver was tackled to the ground. It's easy to say "don't give the refs a chance to impact the game" or "play better" but the reality is officials impact games and sometimes in drastic ways. That doesn't mean it's impossible to overcome bad officiating but it's a lot harder than some fans make it out to be.
