It is human nature to be biased to an extent, or at least unknowingly manipulated by external factors.

I actually agree that we should have an algorithm. Problem is, what does that algorithm consist of? How often does the algorithm get updated? Who gets to decide this?

There will still be a human element deciding the answers to the questions above. There will still be complaints of other teams not getting in, and people doing the same type of analysis that Buzz did. So people will still be clamoring for algorithm updates every single year.

Long story short: There will always be people unhappy with the process.
