In recent interviews he stated he is walking around at about 200 pounds.

That is about what he weighed in at for Powerade and Prep Nationals. TJ mentioned that this year has been great not worrying about cutting weight. It’s allowed him to focus just on becoming a better wrestler. After he won Prep Nationals a few weeks ago - his dad posted looks like he’ll be 197 in college. Maybe just chatter - don’t know - no insight into Coach’s plan…

Note Pitzer is TJ’s only loss this year - in the Powerade Finals (215 lbs) - in tie-breakers. Pitzer is significantly bigger - outweighs TJ by about 20 pounds. Pitzer is an absolute hammer on top - no one ever chooses bottom against him. He rides out everyone at a minimum but actually turns and pins most guys from top. Arsenal of top moves. Slight edit from original post on their match at Powerade - just rewatched - Pitzer won 4-2 in tiebreakers. TJ takedown in 1st, escape Pitzer 2-1 end 1st. Pitzer took bottom and escaped - 2-2 end of 2nd. TJ took bottom (told announcers beforehand no way he was choosing bottom). His coaches signaled him to take bottom (maybe to challenge him). Pitzer rode out the 3rd so 2-2. No score in SV - TJ almost had him for a TD, Pitzer fled the mat (no stalling nor point in HS). Pitzer was down in TB1 and got a reversal 4-2. He rode out TJ in TB2 and won 4-2. Pitzer is undefeated on the year and is attending PItt next year. He won PA State last weekend - for the 3rd time. He would have 4 Titles but was injured his Sophmore year. He projects to HWT in college. See no way he cuts to 197. He is literally a foot taller than TJ - uses his great length to his advantage. Sounds like TJ wants another chance to beat him. TJ did take him down and was very close a few other times.

C’mon TJ - get him this time!

Go Hokies!
