There was no way bringing in VT was beneficial to not only those 4 but also MD and UVA. In that time period we were dangerous to those 6 teams recruiting as recruiting was at that time. They simply saw us not as a bigger pie for the ACC as they cared less for the ACC bigger pie and more about the ACC growing their individual share of the pie.

It was easy to see why at the time and the fear was not what Bill Brill said about our ability to rise but rather that we would rise and that rise would come, in no small part at the expense of the 6 mentioned.
