If you are going to go long barrel, why not go with a true classic..a FN/FAL with the 7.62X51mm or the M14. Both of those are fantastic long barrel rifles that are fantastic to shoot. I preferred the M14 (and it was my weapon of choice) over the Rem 700 with scout/snipers. .
