Hello! Math teacher here…. I use these crackers for an angle exploration activity. Zesta crackers happen to form a regular tessellation of three regular hexagons called a 6.6.6. However, the competition by name of Westminster went rogue and formed a semi-regular tessellation (more than one regular polygon) with a square and two octagons at each vertex called a 4.8.8. One could argue each of the companies do so in order to waste less product because the sum of the measures of the angles at each vertex have a sum of 360° and therefore have no scrap dough potentially wasted.
