Through hiking the AT. Don't be an idiot


I just read an article about a mid 60's guy who decided to hike the AT from Georgia to Maine. He started in Feb. Quit after 3 days. To sum it up. Wasn't in shape. Didn't field test his equipment. Didn't understand it's cold in Feb. Geez. Hiking the entire AT isn't just something you decide to do on a whim. Unless you are this guy.
