You younger whippersnappers have no idea how much hate he spewed on VT while the head sportswriter at the Roanoke Times, our "local" paper. It also wasn't cute, he did his best to belittle, insult, and just crap on VT at every opportunity. He didn't do this once, but for decades.

Once we were invited to join the ACC, he said that VT would never win a ACC conference championship, in any sport, in his lifetime. That's how much he absolutely loathed VT. Did I mention he was the head sportswriter in VT's "local" paper?

I think he retired to Durham, because he loved everything Dook. Loved Dook, hated VT.

That's how the Roanoke Times established themselves as a crap paper.
