Watched the new Scream film last night. It was okay (mild spoilage)

I thought it was way better than the original ones. I never understood why those were considered so scary and were so popular. Everyone in them sucked and the whole "comedic-horror" blend didn't work for me in those.

This one started out more as just a scary movie and didn't attempt too much humor for the first 30 minutes or so. Unfortunately it started going into the "Rules of surviving a horror movie" thing and had an ongoing bit, making fun of itself, about remakes never being as good as the original.

David Arquette was actually pretty good as a grizzled ol' beat down man who has seen too much. Courtney Cox, dear Lord. Far be it for me to judge someone's looks considering I look like me but that lady went way too far off the deep end with plastic surgery. It is unfortunate.
