I think this is disengenuous, he's been playing well for the last 16 games

Which is half of the season. He's only had 1 game with more than 1 turnover in that stretch (2 against FSU) and has scored 9+ points in 13 of 16 games. He's also been the second best shooter on the team during that stretch knocking down 38% from deep.

He almost singlehandedly won the Notre Dame game, which is our most important win right now and he made an effort against Clemson on Saturday pouring in almost a third of our points.

That doesn't include his performances against Memphis and Xavier where he was far and away our best player. Sure he had a rough one against NCSU and UVA and no-showed against Duke and Dayton, but that stretch was a long time ago.
