My father-in-law was a defense contractor having drinks with naval intel

officer a week before the bay of pigs. He knew all about the CIA's plans and knew it was destined to fail. Some of our intelligence services knew quite a bit more than the CIA but refused to share. Supposedly the guy seemed incredulous the CIA was dumb enough to plan something where they were "going to get their asses shot off," and he flatly refused to share his intel, saying "They can get their own gd intelligence." Amazing, but then again I think there may have been rules about intelligence agencies sharing prior to 9-11.
