I touched on it last week a bit but their officer structure is different


than ours and our allies in terms of roles and responsibilities.

They do not have a true NCO corp. Many of the duties that we would see on a Cpl/Sgt (E-4/E-5) in an infantry squad would be done by Major in the Russian Army. A 1-star would be more like an O-3 Captain/1SG. Very different structure do to their highly centralized command system.
