Let's take a look at the gap again, is it closing or widening or staying the same? This is a very early look into next year. As of today, this will be an attempt to figure what ACC weight classes will look like. I am not going to figure on recruits coming in, just guys who are already on rosters at this point. Transfers coming in, going out, injuries, not choosing to take your 7th, 8th or 9th year, can all change this in the blink of an eye.
125- Looks like Latona and Camacho move up, if Camacho stays, he wins easy. This is a very mediocre weight class. McCormick(VA) Moore(UNC), Duke guy(Sorry, but if your last name isn't Finesilver, well you know.) I am intrigued by VT and State's newcomers here. Will it be Flynn, who wrestlestat has #1 ranked redshirt or Vent. Flynn seems to beat everyone but EddieV, so who knows who we get here. State has a kid Joplin, who like Flynn is ranked higher than any returners. Thinking one of the newcomers takes the title.
133-If Phillippi returns he gets the top spot. Very balanced weight class from 2-5. Myers is the only non returner. Will State go with Camacho or Orine? Can Latona settle in at the weight and actually challenge for the title? Could see Sam anywhere between 1-3 finish here.
141- Matthews(Pitt) has to be the favorite here. Everyone returns but Clarke(UNC). Not sure who will get the VT pick here, Hillegas or Gerardi but looks like a 3rd place finish. Cedeno(UVA) gained some momentum at ACC's, so he won't be a pushover and Jack, likely #2, could be beatable as well. I'll go with VT at #3 with a ceiling of #2.
149- Congratulations Bryce, if he stays at this weight, you have weathered the storm. No more AOC or Wilson. State and Pitt have to replace starters here in a fairly decent class with solid returners, Finesilver(Duke), Sherman(UNC), Verkleen(UVA). VT -Champion
157- All returners but Cleary(Pitt). Lets just go Brady here because I'm not using recruits. AOC takes the weight, depending on injury of course. Brady could be between 3rd and 6th here. Unger(Duke) is a challenge for him. If O'Connor doesn't return, Brady could bump up, but even Scott(NCS) and Keating(UVA) seem more advanced. With AOC 4th, without 3rd for Brady.
I'll do the upperweights a little later.
