Op’g A/C from Ukraine would be much more difficult due to damaged infrastructure and combat support needs- comms, radar, reinforced crew, maintenance, A/C and munitions storage, etc.

If it’s 70 planes split between at least 3 models, then that’s a big footprint to protect. I would not expect Russia to attack Poland though?

I don’t think? Putin goes beyond the Ukr (maybe Moldova, for the ports). I think this has been all economic up this point. Snuff out the energy competition by destroying it. He can severely damage Kyiv and control the country through its power supplies. He doesn’t even need to steal the energy reserves at this point, and a stalemate accomplished his economic goals.

All of this stuff should have been done last year. This war going beyond Ukr borders now definitely increases much more widespread conflict.
