He was a baseball announcer for the richmond minor league baseball team and voice of VCU. VCU is definitely different type of program than VT. That hiring was about the same time than Fuente and I feel didnt have the right criteria.

The voice of a program in a city school for basketball program is completely different that voice of a major football centric land grant university. That position is the VOICE of the university defacto.

Lasser didnt really click with that aspect and was more introverted ....

Alegrhetta would have been a perfect fit, but he just signed with Vanderbilt and immersing himself into the Nashville Vandy culture.... which he should.

First, VT will not be lead for the search. ISP will use their search research resources to bring in candidates. No 1 criteria is football annoucing and interviews and immersion into the program and community outreach. His/her skills in personal interviews will be important as well as be able to work several platforms. Some of the young VT announcers may play but the VT job has alot of business marketing roles imbedded in it, and I dont know if they are prepared to run a national network and ISP
