I saw the team today after the game. It was obviously a tough loss. One that might have gotten away.

These are great kids. Even after a tough loss they represent this school with total class. Coaching staff too. You learn a lot from how kids and coaches interact with fans getting on the bus after a tough loss. The pithy poster crowd has lost sight of how well these kids fight for our school and the efforts they put forth. But Armchair quarterbacks are worthless for a reason. There’s a lot of miserable people who live vicariously through young student athletes. It’s quite sad. Especially the ones who almost seem to revel in the failure. Sadly most of these folks likely have little to show for their own efforts and take great pride in pissing on others.

I will pull for this team hard this week. If they don’t make the tourney it will be tough. But this team hasn’t ever given up. For a reference watch pedullas play at the end of the game. Clemson fans wanted a flagrant. But when they showed the replays on the scoreboard the refs were watching it was clear the kid was as just doing everything he could to have a chance to win. That’s a behavior the whole team has. They will all learn from this season regardless of what happens with the tourney. They’ve been great ambassadors for VT. And my daughters were thrilled for the chance to speak to the team and coaches after even when all they probably wanted to do was get in the bus and get home.
