It's a damn shame. They were really turning a corner.

It's rare that you see a team fire a coach after a 2021-2022 season with so many major accomplishments:

* Racked up more than 100 times the number of wins they achieved in 2020-2021.

* Caught fire with an impressive two-game winning streak in February.

* Finished in the top 14 of the ACC in several statistical categories.

* Thoroughly rattled and confused opposing teams and their fans by chanting "we up" over and over from the bench, despite trailing by over 20 points.

* Completed nearly a full season of basketball, forfeiting only two games.
