Invading the Ukr. REASONS WHY…

- massive natural gas deposit under Crimea- Ukraine has 14th largest deposit in world, just behind Australia and Iraq

* With Shell, Exxon, etc. investing / building infrastructure, Ukraine suddenly becomes a competitor to Russia, with supplies closer to Germany. In direct competition with Russia.

Massive energy state would then drive Ukraine’s admission into NATO.

When Russia-backed dictator was replaced in 2014 with the EU-friendly administration, Russia invaded crimea and then took over the gas exploration economic zone along the Ukr coastline- including over 80% of the Ukr’s oil and gas reserves.

Separatist regions were established near the oil / gas exploration sites. As a result, Exxon, Shell, et al. backed out, and Russia seized $billions of drilling assets.


**** Putin can’t give Crimea back to the Ukr or let the Ukr survive. If Ukr survives and joins NATO, they can fight to get Crimea and the massive energy reserves back. ****

**** The sale of energy to EU would then cripple Russia’s economy based on energy sales. And then Putin would lose power and be ejected. ****
