My best guess is that they had to use to that formula because all 3 guys had same record. ACC results have definitely trumped higher ranked guys in the past.

Now for that formula :

Compare Mekhi to Lautt

Head-to-Head - 25 pts
-- 25 points to Mekhi

Common Opponents Record - 20 points
--Possibly some split points, but Mekhi for sure had the best schedule of 3 ACC 174s

Conference Record - 20 points
--Assume this was split 10-10 (but would a formula have counted Luatt's extra matches vs ACC opponents and given him an edge?)

Coaches’ Rankings - 15 points
--Mekhi comes out on top here- not sure if points are split since Lautt was also in Coaches Ranking

Quality Matches - 15 points
---Guessing some split points here
Mekhi has 2 top 10 wins and 5 top 20
Lautt has 1 top 5 win and 2 top 20 plus 3 more vs guys 28-33 in coaches ranking

Conference Allocation - 5 points
-- guessing this would be split 2.5 each

How does Lautt come out on top of Mekhi here?
