Likely a ligament strain. The tell is if you are experiencing ->


loss of strength in that shoulder. THAT is an indication of possible tear, or some physical damage.

Ice the hell out of it for a day or so and then get someone to help you with this test; Hold both arms out straight from your side. Have someone push down on both arms. If you feel much weaker in the hurt shoulder (not just the pain which you'd expect), you may have some damage. and I'd go get it looked at. Do the same with arms out in front of you..same thing.

I have trouble in both of my shoulders, but it's not structural, so i just modify, or suck it up and put up with the pain. I am heading out to lift, which i do regularly. I take Advil before and rub some Trameal or CBD on it. BUT, I am NOT a doctor, so this advice is worth exactly what I am charging you for it! I've had mine checked and know what it is. THAT is important.

Good luck. I bet (HOPE) it is just a strain, and will get better on its own.
