2 great posts above in this thread

Bolen - was incredibly impressed. He definitely bowed-up and went toe-to-toe with THidlay. I too was concerned THidlay had created some separation - but this match showed - not so fast my friend. Penalty point was the diff. Every match they’ve wrestled has been razor thin and expect any future matches to be the same. Maybe Bolen is starting his peak now for this season - ACCT & NCAAT. Needs to get by Kane to have another epic match with THidlay. If ACCT doesn’t go Hunter’s way - could still get a reverse Haught/Mach result (if you recall Haight won 2 razor thin, epic matches - regular season and ACCT and Mach won the NCAAT). A 2020 Hunter can win it all. Keckeisen (and Brooks) going to be especially tough at 184. Let’s go Bolen!

Mekhi & HHidlay - 2 absolute studs. Styles and experience will make their matches come down to one millisecond and a millimeter. HHidlay was a bad/missed Ref call away from beating Nolf and then taking the Natty home in 2019. Against top guys he sometimes got gassed in late 3rd, but now that he isn’t sucking down 2 weight classes to 157, that issue for him is no longer. Mekhi can definitely take him. My only concern is if Mekhi looks to only score via re-attack I think he’ll have trouble getting a victory. He could certainly do it that way - but will be tough. Mekhi turns it up another level under the brightest lights - bodes well for ACCT & especially NCAAT. Starocci and Kemmerer (plus Labriola and Massa) make this a brutal weight class. Let’s go Mekhi!

Bryce - well stated above. The craftier top AA wrestlers will not engage nor put themselves in positions where BA can demolish even the most worthy opponent. Who knows what can happen in any match and BA can do it to anyone (ask AOC), but my concern is that BA gives up access to his legs for takedowns at times. I know part of that is a set-up, but the top guys have already shown a takedown, disengage/quickly release strategy over the last few years. They want no part of any entanglement. BA is Definitely one of the most exciting and dangerous guys on the mat. Stacked 149 too - but he can navigate it. A Ridge Lovett match at some point would have legendary fireworks. Would love to see BA get another shot at Tariq at the ACCT. Let’s go Bryce!

Go Hokies!
