We are not willing or able to commit troops or warfighting to stop the Russians. Neither is anyone else in Europe. So unless they invade a NATO country, we're all sitting this one out.

Since we greatly curtailed our oil and gas production, the cost of oil and gas went up, the Russians filled that supply void and made lots of money over the last year, filling their coffers with cash to spend on military expeditions and as a buffer to anything lost from sanctions.

Any sanctions we impose that impact oil or gas will just drive those prices up more, hurting the US and Euro economies, but the Russians will just sell that oil and gas to China and make more money. I would suspect they have already negotiated that leading up to this. So they make more, our economy gets hit by higher energy costs.

Nordstream2 pipeline, not active so nothing is flowing, not losing anything because there is nothing there to lose yet.

So other than sending sternly written letters and tweets, what can we do that will have any impact on Russia and more importantly, the Russian ruling class (Putin and the Oligarchs)? These sanctions against their money were telegraphed so you know that money is already out of our reach, so again, chest pounding with no impact.
