Howard should only need to beat one of the top 3 to qualify.


With a 2-3 ACC record, he should be the #4 seed.

If Howard wins the #4/5 match, he gets the #1 seed (5-0 Trumble). If he wins that one, he's in the finals and has qualified. If he loses, he almost certainly gets the #6 seed to make it to the 3rd place match. Beat the loser of the #2/3 match and he's qualified.

If Howard loses the #4/5 match, he likely gets the loser of the #2/3 match. Win that one, and he's in the 3rd place match against the #5 seed again.

EDIT: If Shaw goes, Howard will have to beat him.
He lost to Shaw in January, so I guess Shaw is someone he has been unable to beat.
