Had similar to that when our dog was bout a year old. I'm out back, and

he's off to my left in some bushes, very interested in something. I hear "Squeak" and I think "Oh, one of his squeak toys is in the bushes. But he's acting a bit weird, not coming out of the bushes WITH the squeak toy, but backing up kinda strangely. Then forward and another "Squeak". I think nothing of it. 3rd "Squeak" and I say to myself "He's only got 1 squeak toy that he hasn't destroyed.....and I saw that in the house just this morning? Uh - oh."

Yup, he's got a baby bunny over there that he approaches, picks up fairly gently for a moment, it squeaks and he drops it and backs off. I get the dog inside, get a towel to pick up the bunny. No visible injuries, no blood. Still alive, but not moving. OK, so either REALLY frightened (Do rabbits do a paralyzed by fear thing?) or my dog shook the $hip out of it and injured it severely. I took it over to a small wooded area outside of the electronic fence and put it there. 15 minutes later, it wasn't where I left it, so it either scampered off, crawled off to die or got caught by a fox I'd seen in the neighborhood. I don't think it was the fox, as this was full daytime and the only time I'd seen the fox before was on early morning dog walks.
