I started Ryan but IMO they moved him too quickly to field agent

The transition from desk agent to competent field agent was way too fast. Then be basically became Jason Bourne Jr.

The scope of Ryan and Reacher is much different. Reacher is about small town evil, Ryan is international terrorism.
