It's really kind of sad - wish people understood how hard college swimming


really is. My kids swim 9 times a week with 2-3 lifting sessions. Saturday mornings are a 2 hour swim then lift. MWF are doubles. T/Th are swim/lift. This is pretty much SOP for college swimming. And the training is year round. Usually get a week or two at Spring break and at the end of the school year. The VT swimmers are doing this plus going to/from Christiansburg to swim. I can't imagine (and wonder how that affects recruiting). College swim training is a 6 day a week beatdown culminating in a meet in February where you have about a 7-10 taper, which is nerve-wracking in itself.

SwimSwam has had a lot more and better coverage of the ACC meet than VT's own news sources.
