Appears basketball play is either attacked the boards and drive for layups/short shots or pass around for more in and out and shoot outside by spacing. WIth the spacing method, you can exhaust the team, but you HAVE to make the shot. More inside game, its pound the inside and drive in for the shot/free throw and you get a chance with a rebound and back in. While spacing, if you are hot, the opponent really can't stop it, but if you are not (or physical big guards) its tough to get the advantage of spacing. Crashing the boards seems a more high percentage for success.

Just like football, while the passing game looks good, the key is you got to have receivers to get open and catch. If you are not you are dead. A more ball possession running game, while not flashing appears to get you, highly reliability a couple of yards and commutatively down the field.

The lack of the inside game, makes it hard to create the spacing for the outside game.
