Let's see how my son handles the workload today. He's doing soccer

practice with a local 'academy', and this group also runs an indoor soccer league. 1 hour games against other teams in your (rough) age group. Matt is a "U13", so he plays for the U13/14 team. He's a goalie, primarily, and good at it, so he's also playing for the U14/15 team since his academy has 2 teams at that grouping, and only 1 other goalie. U13/14 has a game at 5. U14/15 has a game at 3.

February break started today though, and I guess a lot of kids are going on vacation and will be missing today's games. The coach sent out an email looking for players willing to also play with other age levels. IE, Matthew is right now the only U13 playing with the 14/15 group, but for today some of his other U13's can join him. Coach also needs players for the U12 game, so with a broad rules interpretation (he runs the league) if you're not yet 13, you can play in that one. He also needs players for the U17 game at 4.

So yes, he's playing at 2, 3, 4 and 5. I asked my son before signing him up, and ALSO asked the coach "Will Matthew get destroyed by the U17's?" His answer was that most of the U17 team he'd be playing against has the same players he's faced twice in U14/15 games, so no, he should be able to hold his own.

How tiring is it to play goalie for 3 1/2 games, and striker for 1/2?
