Freeman is recruiting well and has assembled a staff of good recruiters

He worked hard to save and add to the #7 ranked 2022 recruiting class after Kelly bailed.

Kelly's recruiting classes were normally in the 9-14 range.

Freeman's 2023 recruiting class is currently ranked #1. Its early but ND has 9 commitments so far.

He has hired dynamic recruiters as RB, WR, DL coaches.

He just today hired Al Golden as his defensive coordinator, partly because of his strong Northeast recruiting ties.

Time will tell but I wouldn't put too much stock in a bowl game played a few weeks after Freeman was hired.
