I could live with that. Although it doesn't give VT any flexibility


to change which areas are student section. For example, currently if season ticket demand is really up and student ticket demand is down for whatever reason, then VT has the flexibility to re-designate a portion of the "student section" to "non-student section" because all the seats are benches. That may not be possible if a portion of the seats are chairs because there may not be enough time to remove the benches and replace them with chairs. Also, a case could be made that the benches feed the overcrowding of certain student sections. Whereas if chairs were installed, then it could be easier to monitor the situation.
