Not Chip, but here is my thoughts.

With the overall team that Pete has, a College World Series berth is possible. When that is the case, a coach has to try to use his best talent to position themselves for the big show. This is not the time to gieve priority to developing players for future years. In addition, the players that you mention will get several chances throughout the season.
