A good defensive performance tonight


Will go a long way towards shoring up the metrics on that side of the ball. If VT doesnt get another opportunity for a Q1 win, tonight will be one of the more important results towards keeping VT in the hunt. Syracuse is 14th nationally in offensive efficiency. Holding them to less than 1 pt per possession will be the goal.

In a game likely to be a low possession affair, judge the defense based on how far below 65 VT can hold them.

If it's above 65, then it's not really helping
