Agree that there is no longer a dead period. Big crowds for my January trip


We used to go in the summer all the time (parents and wife were teachers), so I got used to it. It's just a matter of strategically going into air conditioned places and having that poncho ready for afternoon storms.

Then about 5 years ago, my wife started homeschooling the kids, so we would go during "light" periods: mid-September, early March, and this year mid-January. But there's no escaping the crowds these days, especially with all the pent up demand from postponed trips during the pandemic closure.
