All-American caliber wrestler taking a redshirt just because is so goofy.


Something only a message board could cook up. Young wrestlers benefit from redshirts to get a year of strength and conditioning as well as feeling college wrestlers. Veteran guys like Andonian would not benefit. They need something real to compete for. You save the redshirt in case he gets injured like McFadden did at the NCAAs, use it as a rehab year.
