The middle is huge and unremarkable this year. If you think back to the 3 straight years that we didn't make the tourney under Fester when we should have without a doubt, I think it's obvious that some intangibles, including whether your coach is liked or not, play into it. I get the feeling Mike is liked, Fester wasn't (can you think of another reason no one has picked him up after all these years?).

In a giant field of mediocrity, those relationships can be the difference. But, we have to do enough to let it come down to that.
