Kitley is much bigger. Not as athletic. Not as good of a shooter.

Magarity is 6'3" and reasonably quick and athletic for that size. She averaged 10, 10, 13 rebounds her last 3 years. She shot 325 three pointers in her career at VT (made 101 for a 0.311 avg). She was 0.519 avg on two pointers.

Liz is all of 6'6" and just flat out bigger but less mobile than Magarity. She's avg'd 10.4, 10.6 rebounds her So-Jr years so she's on a pace to beat Magarity but Magarity had that phenomenal Sr year. She has shot only 18 three pointers in her career (made 5 for a .278 avg). But she's 0.546 on two point attempts which is way better than Magarity. In other words, Magarity was smaller and more of a stretch 5. Liz is bigger and works the post to 15-feet much better.

I'll add that Kitley is the biggest women's player in the ACC and certainly the biggest ever at VT. That doesn't make her a *better* player than Magarity. She is still prone to TOs because her footwork and quickness are works in progress.

Saying Kitley is better than Magarity is like saying Shaq was better than Nowitsky. They are different players, each with unique abilities. And each with a bunch of championships.

Magarity, if she'd played on the current team, could/would be equally as effective as Kitley in my opinion. Because the team could play a true 5-out offense that could also pressure full court on defense or really get out and run the break at least as good as any other team in the ACC.
