Planned obsolescence, doorknob style? We have a house that’s not quite

5 years old. We bought it 51 months ago and it had never been occupied. It’s not extravagant and it’s not cheapo.

We have 15 interior doors, each with identical brushed metal finished doorknobs. Again, nothing expensive but also not at all cheap. They are fastened with two screws from one side. We use 13 of the doors with equal regularity and 2 of them about half that much. In the past two weeks 11 of the 13 became so loose they were jiggling against the screws and needed considerable tightening.

Conspiratorial theories welcome.
