Inconsistent enforcement. I notice the coaches families aren't
Wearing them. They sit right below me in the area where recruits are. Recruits wear them -- sort of -- but by the half they are pretty much gone. Across the arena they tend to come off as the the game progresses. There are some people who you can tell just outright refuse to wear them, others who never take them off. A lot of it seems age related -- older folks generally seem to be more careful about it, younger folks maybe not as diligent. There are ushers with "Mask Up" stick signs walking around, and they'll wave them at unmasked fans. Some fans comply, some just flat out ignore it. It's an interesting set of circumstances. I think we're probably at a point, at least for VT sporting events, where people should be left to their own preferences, since the vax rate is so high. People could then make their own decisions about attending and masking. What makes it hard to go that route is people on one side of the equation who try to make the other side feel bad about their choice, in some cases outright challenging them. If folks would just do their own thing and be sensitive to others' concerns and lose the mocking and belligerence, some of these rules could probably go away.
