Yes I would go with acetone too.

Less of a health issue than xylol. It is very volatile so you won't have to worry about lingering solvent like with mineral spirits. It is also very flammable, so be sure to give it plenty of time to air out, and good ventilation while using it. Probably remove the drum and do it outside or in the garage, also lets you clean both sides of the drum.
