So lemme tell you a google story from the other side of the ad world...


So I run ads for an agricultural product (they show up on this site a lot).
A couple years back, I had an ad running for months, and suddenly I find it shut down. Google account tells me it is blocked for a violation of some decency policy for adult content. I have no idea why. I'm not advertising porn.

I get a hold of a google ad rep, he reviews it, and sees nothing wrong with it. Then he finds it. The word "mating" was in the ad. Turns out, google algorithms don't allow that word. Why now? Well, google bots just randomly check ads, and that day, they checked mine. Why they wouldn't fix that in the beginning, I have no idea. Well, the rep agrees the ad is perfectly acceptable. He also says there's nothing he can do to reinstate the ad either. There's no exception around the google bots. I must alter the ad and resubmit. So I did.

Point is, it's like a random drug test. You never know when google decides it's your day to pee in the cup. Better keep it clean.
