I had been having similar issue on newer machine too. Opened up the

unit and sat watching it run through several cycles. Saw water leaking out, but couldn’t determine why.
Finally called repair guy. Turned out the machine sprays water into both the bleach dispenser and detergent dispenser each cycle. Whether bleach was being used or not. The dispenser wasn’t draining faster than the water going into it.
They ordered new dispenser. When it arrived, the new dispenser now had 2 holes for draining, rather than the original 1. He replaced the dispenser and no issues since.

I contacted Maytag and told them it was an obvious design flaw. That they recognized the flaw by redesigning the original dispenser. On such a new machine, I should be compensated. I got no where. I finally gave up, and told them I’d never buy a Maytag again.
