Sounds like a range my uncle goes to

went with him watched some videos got my "pass" to go into the range. I knew nothing about guns. Obviously my uncle who owns rifles, shotguns, and handguns walked me through everything. All the safety steps and requirements, he takes it and obviously so do I seriously.

However, anyone can watch those videos and get a "pass" to get into the range. No regulations, no requirements, so not much more these ranges can do. They don't want to alienate their customer base.
