S&W recently came out with a hammer fired "Shield" size pistol

If I was in the market for another CC pistol, that would be very high on my list.

Consider me "old fashion," but I prefer hammer fired pistols over "no manual thumb safety" striker fired pistols for avoiding NDs alone.

I rate the order of carry safety:

(1) manual thumb (or similar) safety

(2) SA/DA pistols with a "de-cocker***" to put it into DA mode while carrying. If a round doesn't fire, you can try pulling the trigger several times before ejecting the faulty round. No other pistols have that capability.

(3) striker fired pistols.

*** SA/DA pistols with a decocker: a bunch of SIG P-series, Walther P99 series, Several different CZs, Sphinx SDP, Springfield XD-E, Beretta PX4, Some HKs
