New gym I just joined has something very similar to this


its a way to do squats and explosive leg workouts that takes the pressure and wear and tear on the lower back. It takes a bit to get used to, but allows for a variety of leg exercise to be preformed with less stress that a typical barbell. Also their is a tension belt on it that is quite different from free weights. Its a pretty cool set-up. Just started using one about 3 weeks ago.
