whether or no thy are an athlete. A lot of the private schools with large endowments (Northwestern, Stanford, Duke, the Ivies) are doing it. It doesn't make much of a difference in a rick-kid sport like lacrosse, but it can definitely help in a sport like track, where a lot of athletes are from lower-income families and the athletic scholarship limits are low.
