Is it written as Norman Lear intended it to be, for people to laugh at Archie Bunker, or is it written for people to laugh with Archie Bunker? Heard Norma Lear in an interview say he hated when people started to laugh with Archie as they used it as an excuse for their own bigotry and missed the point of the show. Archie was created to be a clown. If a reboot makes him a clown than it works.
