For instance, the worst thing you can do in the closing minutes, seconds is foul a shooter. We did that twice trying to defend a three point shot from the corner. It would seem that probability wise it is better to either stand with arms up at a distance to where the shooter cannot jump into you or if you are going to jump at least jump straight up again at a distance far enough away from the shooter. Look, most guys shoot 75% from the line and 33% from the three range. At a certain point, if the guy can make the long shot, then it is what it is. You do not need to “over defend” with a lead in the final possessions.
