To be fair, he said this was the best *shooting* team he's ever had.


In the interview that everyone loves to misquote, he said this was the best shooting team he's ever had. He talked about the value in having guys in every position that could put the ball in from long range.

Everyone else took that quote and digested it as "this will be the best all-around team Mike Young ever coached" and from there the unreasonable expectations piled up.

Side note, when he said this was the best shooting team he's ever had, he obviously had no clue that guys like Alleyne, Murphy and Cattoor would suffer shooting slumps for large parts of the season.
