I'm not as pessimistic as you...
The ACC made a deal with the devil when they agreed to have Notre Dame join as a non-football member. It was out of desperation, just like the Louisville addition after Maryland fled to the Big Money, I mean ... Big Ten. All the ACC's moves have been defensive. The Big Ten's move to add Rutgers and Maryland was also defensive. A response to the ACC adding Notre Dame.
Everyone who is honest with themselves knows that Notre Dame doesn't want to EVER join a football conference. The ACC knew but it was better having 90% of them vs. having nothing. If the ACC implodes as some on here are predicting, so be it. Just remember that Virginia Tech has been in the SoCon, a football independent, The Mighty Metro, BEFC (by far the best move Tech has ever made), Atlantic 10, Big East full membership and ACC. Tech is like a cockroach, it will find a way to survive. Who knows? By the end when all is said and done only two or three schools will survive, Louisville and Virginia Tech and maybe WVU ... the ultimate survivors! LOL Go Hokies!
