Outdoor (hiking) clothing question...


For those who have hiking pants with zip offs to turn them into shorts, how often do you zip off the legs?

I've owned them for a couple decades, and only zipped off the legs once...probably two decades ago. When you shop for lightweight hiking pants, it seems the vast majority all have zip-off legs. I would prefer to NOT have that feature, especially if it slightly cuts the price.

I don't use that feature, so I was curious if anyone else used them.

I like really thin hiking pants for summer hikes. They are comfortable in the heat, and allow me to NOT coat my legs with bug spray when traversing the swampy areas around here.
